What is Work Adventures Canada

Canada has long been a popular destination for many international students and young adventure seekers from around the world. Each year thousands of people take advantage of the IEC (Working Holiday Program), SAWP (Seasonal Agricultural Worker Program), Temporary Foreign Worker Visa and Study Permits. Working in Canada offers international work experience and amazing travel opportunities. It allows individuals to grow their professional network, expand their skills and make new friends.

We have a few different programs for you to choose from depending on the type of job you are looking for, your experience, the length of time you want to work in Canada, your personal interests and eligibility.

Program Options

When looking to go on the program, you can select between three different program options:  Resort, Farming, or Work & Study

We offer seasonal job placements throughout Canada for winter and summer positions. Our employers include ski resorts, restaurants, wineries, and adventure parks. Work as Ski/Snowboard Instructors, Lift Operators, Wait Staff, Housekeepers, Maintenance Staff, Front Desk, Hospitality, Retail Clerk, and more. The adventure seeker requires flexibility, which is why we’ve developed THREE options for you. We don’t want you paying for inclusions you don’t need or want. We also want to reward your loyalty and help make the process as simple as possible.

INDEPENDENT OPITON

IEC assistance only. We will be there to help you apply for your Working Holiday Visa and answer any questions you might have along the way. We will help support you as you look for a job and find accommodations in Canada.

BUNDLE OPTION

Are you signed-up for another CCUSA program? We make it easy to do the Resort program either before or after another CCUSA program. We also offer a discount!

PLACEMENT OPTION

We have developed relationships with several resorts, wineries, restaurants, adventure parks and hotels throughout Canada to ensure we find you the ideal job. You are given the opportunity to learn about our employers, their locations, and the jobs they are offering. During the application process, you will complete a Job Preference Form listing your top choices of employers, jobs and locations to assist our placement team in finding the right match.

Resort

Farming is a thriving industry throughout Canada. Farm work and fruit picking has also become a trend among young adult travelers. 

 It’s a great opportunity to earn a lot of money in a short amount time, meet other international like-minded people, make new friends and travel. 

Our Farm Employers offer full-time seasonal jobs (April – November). The types of jobs include general farm worker, farm technician, greenhouse worker, equipment manager, rancher, production, and many more.

Farming

Take advantage of the Canadian Study Permit to expand your education and gain valuable work experience. With our partner, Tamwood Careers, you will study in your desired field, gain work experience in Canada, make strategic connections in your industry, and develop skills to enhance your resume and launch your career. 

You will be taught by instructors and guest speakers with real-world knowledge. Through Tamwood, you can also apply for admission with advanced standing to one of their academic pathway partners. Upon completion of your program at the pathway partner college/university, you will be eligible for a Post-Graduate Work Permit. 

 You can also earn money while you study to help with living expenses. No matter which program you’re in, your Canadian study permit will allow you to work part-time (up to 20 hours per week) while studying and full-time in your Co-Op work term. Tamwood Careers offers workshops, hiring fairs, and tools to assist you in finding a job.

DIPLOMA AND CERTIFICATION

If you elect the Work & Study Program Option, you can also chose from a variety of diploma and certificate programs. The programs are offered in Toronto, Vancouver or Whistler and run 27 or 48 weeks in length depending on the program you choose.

CCUSA Benefits

The benefits of going with CCUSA are endless, but here are just a few highlights.

Arrival Assistance

CCUSA will provide a detailed Pre-departure orientation with you a few days prior to your departure. CCUSA will provide you detailed instructions on obtaining your Social Insurance Number and opening a Canadian bank account. From there, you will be given travel instructions to your final destination.

Accommodations

Either your employer or Work Adventures Canada (WAC) will help you find accommodations during your contract. Many employers accustomed to hiring Temporary Foreign Workers usually provide staff housing for a small fee. If studying in Canada, you will have the options of homestay, single or double occupancy dormitory or shared apartment.

Visa Assistance

CCUSA’s licensed Canadian Immigration Attorney, Tamwood and/or your new Canadian employer will assist you with applying for the appropriate visa for working and/or studying in Canada. The visa process will depend on the job, location and type you will be applying for, but you will be directed every step of the way.

Travel

You are responsible for making your own travel arrangements to Canada. Your local CCUSA office will assist you in making your arrangements if needed.

Travel Insurance

You are required to obtain comprehensive travel insurance for the entire duration of your stay. Your Canadian Study Permit/Work Permit dates will match the exact dates of your insurance coverage when you enter Canada. You have the option of purchasing a CCUSA Insurance Plan, so you are safely covered while you are travelling and working in Canada. The fees involved vary based on length and type of coverage you choose. Check with your CCUSA office for more details.

Support

CCUSA will offer support and resources through every step of the process. You will have access to our WAC private social media groups to keep you connected with WAC participants all over the world and in Canada. You will have access to our exclusive interview, job hunting and resume tips to give you the competitive edge needed to get the job you want. You will have a number to call that gives you 24/7 support in case of emergencies or for just ordinary questions. You will never feel alone!

Fees and Costs

Program Fees

Vary by your home country where you are applying. Please contact your local CCUSA office for all program fees and conditions.

Additional Fees

The following fees are in addition to CCUSA’s program fee and set by independent bodies.

  • Study/Work Permit Fee:  $150-155 CAD
  • Biometrics:  $85 CAD

The Application Process

3 simple steps to get you on your way.

Applications are accepted year-round.  You must apply to CCUSA at least 12 – 16 weeks prior to your anticipated program start date.

Complete and return all the documents with payment to CCUSA. Be sure to read and sign the Program Agreement.
Step 3
We will contact you within a week to arrange a personal interview.

We are fortunate to partner with a group of exciting employers throughout Canada who trust and welcome our international staff. Job availability is dependent on the season and size of the employer. We recommend you apply to Work Adventures Canada early to ensure you get the job you want. The list of employers who are currently hiring is available on our Work Adventures Canada Employers page. Check back frequently to view the most recent updates to our employers. Your application will be sent to your preferred employers listed on your Job Preference Form and you will be notified if the employer is interested in scheduling an interview.

Farming

For our Farm Program, we are fortunate to partner with a group of exciting farms throughout Canada who trust and welcome our international staff.  You are given the opportunity to learn about our farms, their locations, and the jobs they are offering during the application process.  Job availability depends on the season and size of the farm.  We recommend you apply to Work Adventures Canada early to ensure you get the job you want.

Work & Study

For our Work & Study Program, our partner, Tamwood Careers, will assist you with your job placement in accordance to your field of study and length of program.
